Mary graduated with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science/ pre-physical therapy from Rutgers University in 1989 and a Masters in physical therapy from University of California in 1993. After receiving her physical therapy license in California she worked for Los Angeles County School System for two years working with children 3 years old to 21 years old in a school setting with a medical therapy unit for out-patients. After moving to Florida, Mary worked for Health South Sunrise Rehabilitation hospital with in and out patients birth to 21. At the hospital Mary treated multiple diagnosis including genetic syndromes, orthopedic conditions, cerebral palsy, burns, brain injury. Mary received special training at the hospital in burn rehabilitation, serial casting, NDT certification, coma stimulation, interactive metronome, kinesiotaping, vestibular rehabilitation techniques, aquatic therapy. Mary worked at the hospital for 12 years. Since moving to North Carolina 11 years ago she has worked for the NC public schools and part time doing private home health care working with children in the early intervention program and school age children. Mary is married and has four children. She has a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and is a marathon runner.
