After completing her Bachelor’s of Arts in Child Development and Family Studies, in 2000, Laura went on to receive a Masters of Science in Speech and Hearing Sciences with a focus on Pediatrics in 2002. Over the last 13 years, Laura has worked with children with a variety of speech, language and hearing needs. She has experience with a wide range of developmental disorders, including Down Syndrome, developmental apraxia of speech, oral motor dysfunction, and receptive and expressive language disorders. Laura has specific expertise in the area of pediatric dysphagia and feeding disorders.
She is a certified VitalStim provider. She also has completed training in the Beckman Oral Motor assessement and treatment protocols, Sarah Rosenfeld-Johnson’s Oral Placement Therapy, as well as Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes.
Laura believes in a whole-child approach and feels that collaboration with parents, caregivers, and other clinicians is a critical factor in helping children to meet their goals and participate in all aspects of home, school, and community life.
