Emily earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Recreational Therapy from East Carolina University in 2005. Following graduation, she moved home to Raleigh and worked as an ophthalmic technician until returning to East Carolina University to obtain her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy. She graduated in 2008 after completing her fieldwork experiences in acute care, subacute rehabilitation, and the burn center. Her rotation in the burn center is where she discovered her passion for working with children. She worked full time for the NC Children’s Hospital at UNC where she specialized in treating both inpatients and outpatients who had suffered from various ailments including trauma, genetic syndromes, orthopedic injury, neurological insults, cardiovascular disease, and cancer.
Emily enjoys working with children and their families to help with reaching their maximum potential across various settings. She learns something new from each client and is consistently amazed at the strength that lies within children. Emily lives in Holly Springs with her husband, three children and fur-child. She enjoys outdoor activities, sewing, and church activities.
